QX Global’s Eric Sanchez Detained On Facebook Live

Eric Sanchez, one of the operators of the QX Global News Facebook Page, was detained by Harris County Constable Precinct 6 deputies on Sunday during a protest outside Morales Funeral Home in Houston.

The incident occurred outside the funeral home located at 2900 Canal Street, where Sanchez was protesting Grizzy’s Hood News. During the protest, Sanchez was seen writing graffiti on a public sidewalk using a paint-like substance while broadcasting live on Facebook.

Viewers watching the livestream observed Sanchez writing unknown messages on the sidewalk as part of the protest. As the livestream continued, Harris County Precinct 6 deputies arrived on scene and made contact with Sanchez. Deputies then placed him in handcuffs after he was in possession of a weapon at the time of the encounter.

A lengthy discussion followed between Sanchez and the deputies while the livestream continued to broadcast. No injuries were reported, and no additional individuals were detained during the incident.

Authorities have not released further details regarding the alleged weapon or whether any citations related to the graffiti were considered.

Following his release, the Facebook Live video was deleted from Sanchez’s account. However, a copy of the livestream was preserved before its removal. The video captures the moments leading up to Sanchez’s detention, and the interaction with deputies.
