15-Year-Old Killed in Shooting Outside Westfield High School, Shooter Remains at Large

NORTH HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A 15-year-old teenager was killed in a shooting outside Westfield High School Tuesday afternoon, and the person responsible remains at large.

The shooting happened around 2:30 p.m. outside the high school in North Harris County. Authorities responded to the scene following reports of gunfire and confirmed that a 15-year-old had been killed.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said authorities do not currently believe there is an active threat to the surrounding community. However, the shooter has not been apprehended, and the investigation remains ongoing.

A mother whose student attends Westfield High School said she heard the shooter may have been wearing a ski mask. That information has not been independently confirmed by law enforcement.

The deadly shooting prompted a significant law enforcement response around the school as investigators worked to gather evidence and determine what led up to the gunfire.

Authorities have not yet publicly identified the victim or released additional details about a possible suspect or motive.
