CAUGHT ON CAMERA - Three Men Shot After Gunfire Erupts at Residential Park in Harris County
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A broad daylight exchange of gunfire at a residential park in northeast Harris County left three men hospitalized and prompted an ongoing investigation by the Harris County Constable’s Office Precinct 4.
Captain Buddy Gheen with Precinct 4, Mark Herman’s Office, addressed the media following the shooting, which occurred in the 12100 block of Swords Creek Rd. Authorities responded to reports of multiple shots fired at the park but initially found no victims, suspects, or witnesses at the scene.
Shortly after deputies arrived, they were notified that three Black male individuals had arrived at a local hospital suffering from gunshot wounds connected to the incident.
According to Captain Gheen, investigators obtained doorbell camera footage from a nearby residence that appears to show two individuals engaged in what authorities believe was an illegal narcotics transaction that escalated into violence. The video allegedly captures a brief struggle between the individuals, followed by both parties exchanging gunfire before fleeing the area.
“At least 10 shots, if not more, were fired,” Gheen said, noting that deputies are still canvassing the area to determine the exact number of rounds discharged.
The three men who arrived at the hospital are believed to be in their early to late 20s. One of the victims sustained a gunshot wound to the neck and was listed in serious but non life threatening condition. The other two suffered gunshot wounds in various parts of their bodies.
Investigators have not identified or located the other party involved in the shooting, and no additional victims have presented at area hospitals.
The shooting occurred in close proximity to a basketball court and playground that are frequently used by families and children.
“You get one life and zero regard for not only yourself, but everybody else,” Gheen said. “This is broad daylight. This basketball court is very active daily. People play on the playground, and there are residences directly behind it. It’s just sad to think about.”
The investigation remains active and fluid. Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact the Harris County Constable’s Office Precinct 4.
