Pedestrian Dead After Hit and Run
On Friday night, a 57 year old man was killed in a hit and run crash in northeast Harris County, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Sergeant Turman with the Vehicular Crimes Division said the crash occurred around 8:00 p.m. in the 12800 block of Woodforest. Authorities provided an update during a press conference at approximately 10:30 p.m.
Investigators say the victim was crossing Woodforest northbound, attempting to reach an apartment complex located at 12703 Woodforest, when he was struck by an eastbound vehicle.
The driver did not stop.
Deputies say the suspect vehicle is believed to be a white Dodge Ram pickup truck, model years 2013 through 2019.
The truck fled the scene immediately after the collision. Investigators are currently evaluating evidence left on the roadway in an effort to determine the vehicle’s direction of travel and identify the driver.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is leading the investigation. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the white Dodge Ram or the incident to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. This remains an active investigation.
