Kingwood High School Student Detained After Assaulting Officer During Protest
KINGWOOD, HOUSTON: A student-led protest led to the detention of a Kingwood High School student who was counter-protesting in support of ICE after he allegedly assaulted a Houston Police Department officer.
Students from multiple Humble ISD schools walked out on Wednesday to protest Customs and Immigration Enforcement actions occurring nationwide. The protest began at noon and continued until approximately 7 p.m.
According to authorities, during the protest a student identified as a counter-protester allegedly sprayed water on another protester. While attempting to push through the crowd, the student allegedly shoved an HPD officer, which resulted in his detention. HPD later released the student without charges.
