“You are my prey today”: Dr. Candice Matthews Makes Appearance At Voting Polls

PORT ARTHUR, TX – Dr. Candice Matthews traveled from Houston to a polling location in Jefferson County on election day and spoke outside during voting in the race involving Justice of the Peace Judge Joseph L. Guillory.

Video recorded at the scene shows Matthews wearing a predator-style mask while making remarks directed at Guillory, stating, “I may be the predator, but you are my prey today.”

During her remarks, Matthews accused Guillory of abusing his authority and referenced a previous attempt to hold her in contempt of court.

A citizen present at the polling location said he intends to file charges alleging abuse of power and impersonating a police officer involving Guillory. The individual stated the alleged incident was captured on video.

Shortly after Matthews arrived at the polling site, Guillory left the location with his wife. She said she was there supporting him during the election.

According to preliminary election results, no candidate received a majority of the vote. The race is expected to proceed to a runoff election in May.
